Got the Allegro up on the lift and was able to walk under it for the first time ever. Apart from 45 years of mud & dirt (and that awful British Leyland underseal) it seems pretty ship-shape under there. 2

I rolled the Austin Allegro out of the garage and into the sunlight a few days ago to help cure the paint after respraying the engine bay. I'm not a paintologist so it's not a brilliant job, but I guess it looks better than it did. Hoping to get the electric motor installed soon. 8

SO CLOSE! 😅 Doing a brake test in the Austin Allegro before it's converted to electric power. The rules state that it'll have to meet modern braking requirements: it must be able to brake from 100 km/h to zero in under 4.4 seconds, five times in a row, all within three minutes. 3

The Austin Allegro dropped its guts! It overheated while idling. I think the reason is the monsoon rain killed the electric fan. Filled it up and as long as I keep moving the temperature remains okay. It's nearing the end. Almost time to convert it to electric! 4
