Monday June 5th (last week) comex silver open orders were 135,245. Today (one week later) open orders is 149,471. In one week new short solds were created for 14,226 contracts. Each contract is 5,000 ounces. Means in one week 71.1 million ounces of new short sales, double all comex sellable ounces. 8

Comex silver is so weird. Registered is 29.8 million ounces equalling 5,976 contracts. June is a tiny 1,042 contracts. But those tiny contracts are still 17.4% of all registered. Registered is valued at less than $700 million. The entire world silver price is based on comex registered. 1
